Submitted Jan 15, 2012 at 14:48 — Our Wednesday, January 25 music gathering will be held at the Pope Library here in Danville--we met there once before and liked the space! We will meet to eat at 6 and start playing at 7, as before. This time we can leave instruments in the room at the right of the entry, then go upstairs to eat our dinner (turn left at the entry, go through a reading room to the stairway and up. I will get there early greet you!). After dinner we will go back downstairs to the "music" room to start playing (hopefully) at 7.)
The Pope Library is on Park Street, opposite the Town Hall, and there is ample parking there and around the Methodist Church which is near the Library. Hope to see you there!

Submitted Nov 23, 2011 at 19:02 — Reminder about Friday's dance--- it's from 7 to 10 so please get there around 6:45 to play. If you haven't been to this gig before, it's in the Peacham Town Gym, across from the church and just a little west of the center of Peacham, VT. You can get there by going directly south on the Danville Rd. from Rt. 2 in Danville at the Danville town green. You can also get there from exit 18 on I-91 by going west on the West Barnet Road, then following the paved road west to S. Peacham, turning right, and driving up the hill to the center of Peacham. There are other ways and some reliable shortcuts, but call Frank or Chip if you need more info on those.
Submitted Nov 07, 2011 at 08:52 — Hi!
Library gigs seem to be getting popular! This Wednesday's NIPS will occur at the Pope Memorial Library here in Danville--just across Route 2 from the Danville Town Hall where my great birthday party was held on October 29. From the west, turn right onto Park Street--there should be ample parking on both sides of Park Street--and more behind the Danville Methodist Church which is just beyond the Library.
We will eat at 6 and start playing at 7. I have invited local musicians to sit in with us at 7 and hope some of them will come! See you--Lois

PARTY!
NIPS musicians and friends are invited to a pot luck music party Nov. 5, Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Wolcott Town Hall to celebrate the marriage of Charlyn (Webster) Carriere, accordian player and sometimes NIPS attendee, to her college sweetheart, Alan March or Montana. This should be fun-- an old-time neighborly junket with singing and (possibly) dancing, judging from other junkets I've been to at Charlyn's house in Wolcott. Hope you can make it.

Submitted Sep 11, 2011 at 20:34 " From Lois: Hi, everyone--The Parsnips are scheduled to play again at the annual Danville Autumn on the Green on October 2 at 2:30. This is a paying gig!
HOWEVER we will not be on the Danville Green this year because of construction; rather, the event will be held at the Danville School playing fields. To get there, turn from Route 2 at the blinking light south onto the Peacham Road, go about a block, then turn west at the Danville School sign to go up to the school. You will see the performance stage on the left as you approach the school. I don't know yet whether there will be reserved parking space for performers. We should be there soon after 2. I'd like to know if you can make it--thanks!

Hi Nips,
I would be inclined to do the Greensboro Dances. They have been fun and usually well attended and appreciated. I assume the $50 would come out of donations at door[Greensboro recreation committee is contributing other $50 to Grange]. If they need the $50 up front I guess I can send a check and get reimbursed from door at first dance.
I think I can make all the dates except first one in August[family wedding out of town] so I guess I'd miss Peacham also.
Will not likely make it to music on Wed 13th.
Glad to hear Peacham dance was a success.
Hi from sunny California,

The upper part of Finley Drive, above my house, is still washed out because of the recent storms. Therefore if you are coming here next Wednesday, June 22, to the NIPS gathering, go straight through the blinking light on Route 2, by the Diamond Hill Store, down the hill to the 40 m.p.h. sign which is just before the dentists' office sign. Right after that turn right onto Mountain View Drive. Soon you will see the lower Finley Street sign--turn right onto that and drive up to my house. Park on the lower lawn if you wish--you will see my car there.

Submitted Feb 25, 2010 at 20:55 On 3/24, I was in Norwich because my school was on winter break. But planning to work at school and go to music, I had actually started driving northward on I-89 with snow falling very heavily. Seeing many vehicles off the road was fairly ominous. But then I came up behind a VERY long line of cars and trucks at a standstill with other vehicles coming up and halting behind me. There was no telling whether some semi had jackknifed or what, so it was a real possibility that people could be trapped there indefinitely. Fortunately, I was able to drive along the shoulder to one of those crossovers you're not supposed to use and escape to the southbound lanes. Still, I sorely missed my weekly Wednesday music fix! ~Chip
